You can use different sites for anonymity test. All these sites will tell you how anonymous are you on the internet. These sites will show information like your IP address, your country & location, browser, DNS and network provider details.
By running this test, you can confirm that you are anonymous or not and if not then what are the pieces of information visible to others (network provider, site owners, Govt. etc).
How to Run Anonymity Test?
I have previously tested three sites. All these sites worked great with almost similar functions. These sites are:
Simply, go to any of these sites. You will see a button to start the test. Click that button and the test will start. Within seconds you will see the results of your anonymity test.
What to do if the test says that you are not browsing anonymously? The test will produce results on the basis of reality. You can the details that are visible there. These details can be visible to anyone.
There are several ways to be anonymous but I shall define the two popular and most effective methods.
- Browser Built-in Incognito Feature
- Anonymous VPN
Both are the best ways but the incognito feature is not too much effect. Explained can be found below.
Be Anonymous With VPNs
VPNs are the best ways to hide your identity and browse totally private. VPN providers give services like hiding IP address, DNS leak protection and much more.
A virtual private network (VPN) actually connect you with any other country’s server and whenever you visit a site, that site sees VPN location instead of yours. Sounds amazing? Yes, really.
The most popular VPNs are:
- NordVPN
- Express VPN
- IpVanish
- CyberGhost
- Hotspot Shield
Further, you can visit their official sites to know what they really can do to increase the layers of privacy.
Be Anonymous With Incognito Mode
Incognito mode is a built-in function in all popular browsers. From a privacy point of view, it is not as effective as a VPN. But maybe it can be helpful for you.
Incognito mode ensures that enable a site to drop a cookie in your browser. It also does not save your browsing history and also do not keep the data that you put in a sign-up, login or other types of forms.
Incognito mode does not hide you on the internet which means your IP address and location is still visible. Your behavior can be monitored by the site owners and also by your network provider.
